SHIIGA is a group of mushroom growers made of both hobbyists and commercial producers. Our goal is to advance the education, purchasing, growing, marketing and uses of culinary mushroom production. A secondary objective is the promotion of economic development in rural Wisconsin and adjacent states, and to foster and encourage the wise use and management of forest and related resources as in regard to culinary mushrooms.
This is Who We Are
The organization was chartered in 1985 and has been instrumental in funding creation of recipe development and marketing tools as well as providing educational venues over the years for new and experienced growers alike. More recently, SHIIGA is banding together with woodland owners, foresters and arborists to develop a network serving to distribution of raw materials for mushroom growers.
